THE EVOLUTION OF FINAL FANTASY

The first release of the Final Fantasy series was on 18th December, 1987. After the first release, the subsequent releases were numbered. The story of each release is different from the previous one.

The first three games of the Final Fantasy series were for Nintendo Entertainment Systems. After the release of these three games during different times, the subsequent versions were developed for different platforms. The fourth game of this series was released in the year 1991, the fifth in the year 1992 and the sixth in 1994. All of these games did not differ much from each other.

The next three releases featured a 3D graphics and can be played in a pc. Final Fantasy 7 was released in the year 1997. The next two releases were in the year 1999 and 2000. These two releases featured real characters and theme music.

Final Fantasy 10 was the first game that was designed for play station 2 and was released in the year 2001. The game featured enhanced graphics and sound which attracted lot of gamers. Final Fantasy 11 was the first of the series that was released for Xbox 360 platform. It was released in the year 2002 and this was the first game of the series to feature MMORPG. This game also featured some real time battles in place of random fights. The next release named Final Fantasy 12 came in the year 2006 and was an improved version of Final Fantasy 11. It featured large battles in intertwined battle fields.

The latest release is Final Fantasy 13. This game hit the Japanese market on December, 2009. It hasn’t been released elsewhere and is to be released in North America and Europe in March, 2010. This release is based on play station 3 platforms. The game features a new concept called the break state. When the enemy is in break state, he is vulnerable to all kinds of attacks. This time period can be utilized to inflict heavy damages. The Final Fantasy 14 is in developmental stage and is expected to hit the market in the later period of 2010.
